LESSEN THE BIRTH-RATE.
CHftISTOHURCH, Fob. 4. At a largely-attended meeting of the General Laborers' Union to-night the following motion was unanimously agreed to: "That this union view's with disgust the prosecution of boys two or three times for an offence, the taking away, of their civil rights, and th.B garnishing of their wages, and urges upon the citizens to do all in their power to lessen the birth-rate until %i» Defence Act ie repeated.."
