Constable Martin, of Ashburtou, takes Constable Murray's place at Kaitangata. Mr B. O'Connor, late of Balclutha, has been appointed manager of the Wellington Friendly Societies' Dispensary. Mr G. Lyon left Balclutha for Danuevirke on Wednesday evening. The previous night he was met by the staff at the Balclutha Post Office and presented with a hand bag, Mr W. M. Allen being the chief spokesman. Mr Bert McCurdy, a Balclutha boy, who has been "cleaning" at the Clinton engine shed for some time, has received notice of his transfer to Invereargill, where he has been promoted to fireman.
