ONIONS FOR HEALTH.

Airs Hetty Green, America's richest business woman, is 78 years of age, and despite, her millions she presists in attending to her own business in Wall Street in her own way. She is best described, the New York correspondent of the 'Telegraph' says, as the feminine counterpart in the financial world of the late .Russell Sago, America's thriftiest linancier, but, unlike Sage, she gives largely to philanthropy, and is always willing to tell her fellow-countrymen the set-rets of her success. So far as one can judge the secrets consist of great natural business capacity, rugged Health and unlimited energy, which enable her to dispense with, the usual recreations of a septuagenarian and to derive joy from personal strife in the business world. Old Mrs Green, plainly dressed and looking the picture of health, was chewing onions in her office when she received a delegation of pressmen on her birthday. "You may •mile," she said, "but the healthy color in my checks is due to eating onions; they are the finest things in the world for the health, and I am never without one haudy." Mrs Green chatted -with i lie reporters for an hour, giving them much useful advice relating to thrift, virtue, industry, and accuracy in their reports, as she usually does on her birthdays.
