A gatekeeper at a northern racecourse recently received a rough handling by a Maori woman. It appeared that the woman wanted to take children into the grounds with her, but as this is not allowed by the Jockey Club the gatekeeper refused to give the children admittance. At this the woman flew at the gate keeper with the evident intention of knocking his head offj hut before the trouble had reached that stage the struggle was Btopp«d.
