CONCERT AT CLYDEVALE.

, A very successful concert was held in the- Clydevale Hall on Friday evening, in aid of the hall funds. There was a very large attendance, the people gathering from all parts of the surrounding districts, and the hull was full to the doors. The entertainment was considered one of Ihe most successful ever held at Clydevale, and the net result is that; the hall funds will be augmented to the extent of fully £2O. The opening overture, was an instrumental item by Mrs J. R. .Mitchell (piano) and Mr J. Ramsay (violin), and a responsive and appreciative audience manifested approval in a hearty manner and set the key note for a pleasant, evening, The rest of the programme had variety and attractiveness. Songs were contributed by Mrs Richards and Messrs Cook, Sinclair, White, Gardiner, Hardie, Pitt and Lucas, the songs being well sung mid the performers well received. Recitations were contributed by Messrs Sutherland, Gordon Mitchell, and J acid Mitchell, and provided much amusement. The star piece in the programme was the short play '"My turn next." This was well done, went without a hitch, and kept the audience in a ripple of laughter from start to finish. The parts were taken by Mrs J, R. Mil rhell, Miss Faehe, and Miss Hyslop, and Messrs Ernest Bunn, \V. Dunlop, and Gordon and .lack Mitchell, Miss Ferhe as '' ilVggi'' and Jack Mitchell as "Twitters" were specially good. At the close of the programme a sul>-> stantial and dainty supper was handed round, and then there was a few hours' dancing. The music was supplied by Mrs Mitchell and Mr Ramsay, and the dance went with a merry swing, The thanks of the hall committee are due to all the performers, and especially to Mr Ramsay for his valuable and ready help, and also to Mrs Mitchell, whose assistance and direction added in no small measure to the undeniable success of the evening. And the large attendance proved most gratifying and encouraging to all concerned.
