SULTAN'S BLOOD MONEY.

The culminating event of the Sultan's tour in Macedonia and Albania was the gathering of Albanian clansmen to-day to attend the opening of the Selamlik at the tomb of the Sultan Mourad on the Plain of Kossovo (states the Prishtina correspondent of the 'Daily Mail' writing on June 16). It was a striking spectacle. Eighty thousand brown-skinned highlanders assembled on the great green plain and performed their religious genuflexions in unison before the Sultau. Afterwards the Grand Vizier -innouneed an amnesty to all Albanians for their political offences. In order to check the Albanian custom of vendetta it was announced that the Government woidd pay blood money for all unavenged murders. It is stated that this will amount to £30,000. The Albanians applauded the Sultan with great shouts that rolled over the vast multitude.
