Houston, Secretary School Committee, thanked Council for generous way children were treated on Coronation day. The Minister Internal Affairs forwarded certificate to fill in re coronation grant. The T. E. Taylor Memorial Fund committee forwarded subscription lists —Left to Mayor to attend to. The Town Clerk, Napier, asked to be favoured with a memo of price* the council was paying for tar. The works report dealt with various matters, and it was decided to proceed with asphalting al once in Victoria Park. The Inspector's report dealt with work done during the month. On the motion of 'Air Ridd, the Works Committee were empowered to prospect further for water for baths in Victoria Park. The Mayor and Crs Ridd, Simm, Gage, and Coulter wcro appointed to locate site for report to special meeting in a tortnight. Finance. The balances at different accounts were, General Dr. £331 "/.
