BURGLAR BANQUET.
Burglars broke into West Mains, Ascot, Berkshire, the residence of 31r A. Prince, the other night, and when the_servants caine down next morning it was found that the intruders had helped themselves to a meal in the kitchen. The visitors had apparently walked across the lawn, opened the window, and forced back the iron bars inside. Before beginning the meal they laid a tablecloth and arranged cut'.ery, plates and dishes. They lit a fire to boil water to make tea, which they drank in large quantities. The repast consisted of between five and .six pounds of salmon, a whole joint of bed, » duck, and various potted meats. Sal-/ ads they made themselves. After doing justice to the good things, which had been provided for a party on the next day, they retired, taking three pairs of boots belonging to Mr Prince's friends, two pairs of servants' shoes, a cookery book, and writing paper and envelopes belonging to the servants. The house was cleared of everything eatable.
