KAITANGATA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

The monthly nine ting of the above council was held on Wednesday night. Present—the Mayor (Mr Yale's) ami Crs. Hunter, Aitchison, Wilson, Coulter. ilislop, Carson, and Lspie. The Mayor referred to the death of the Kino, a n'd the following resolution was carried by the councillors standing—"That this council desires to express profound sorrow at the untimely death of our beloved Kino, and desire to express their deepest, sympathy with Queen Alexandra and'the Royal Family." The County Clerk, Milton, wrote asking council to pay half-cost of metalling 5 chains of road leading to the Knilangatn Cemetery ; estimated cost £i r 7—Works Committee and Inspector to inspect and confer with' the County inspector, with power to pav half cost. T. Middlemass, secretary of Association Football Club, asked permission to play football on the Domain.— Granted ; the various clubs interested to arrange among themselves for the use of grounds. G. Cr Carson said he thought ihaf Victoria -Park could be improved Implanting a few more trees in it,-It was decided that the council inspect the park to see what should be done.
