Hislop, Koau Bank, Stir- ■ ing, wrote asking the Board to do something to protect river bank at his place Irom the action of the river' paused by the construction of a groin ou the opposite bank.-TheXJaptain explained that, the encroachment was not caused -by the groin but by the natural action of the river.-Reaolved that on the necessary timber being supplied by Mr Hislop on the ground, tno steamer be lent to him for one day to assist in putting in the groin.
