Mr M. Lcvenston, , who has been agent for the Singer Machine Coy. in this district for some years, has been transferred to a North Island branch. Mr H, •_. Rowse, who has been accountant in the Bank of N.Z. here for the past three years, is being transit! 1 at ') unu(^u > and leaves for there this afternoon. Mr Rowse lias proved himself a capable, courteous, and popular oDicial in the Bank here, and carries with him the best wishes of many fnends in both town and country. He i s deserving of the pro motion, which the change means. His place here is to be taken by Mr G. W. liain, of the Hawera branch.

It is reported that Br Line, of Owaka has purchased the practice of l)r Mellroy, of Lumsden.
