The following report, and balance shoot, for consideration at tin; annual meeting on Saturday, has been issued to members Your Committee have pleasure in again presenting their annual report and balance-sheet to members. During the year members showed a keen interest in the affairs of the" Society, and the meetings have been generally well attended. The balancesheet shows a debit balance of £lB 2/N, but as against this there is about .£l7 10/ to collect in member's tickets and subscriptions. The dol>it balance is more than accounted for by extensive improvements which have been carried out on the ground, the total cash cost of which amounted to £ll. It may be remembered also that- the previous year the su;in of £35 Hi/8 was expanded in tile purchase of blueguin hurdles. The donations showixf a falling-ofi of £25 to C-SC) last year, or .£55 to £OO less than tw,o years ago. There is, however, a gratifying increase in the sale of member's tickets, the total to hand from this source being £3!), a s against £.lO 11 /- last year. The gate takings on show day also showed an increase of £'! I 8/6. Your committee consider the sale of member's tickets might be still further increased. The annual horse parade, was held on the show ground on Friday, Oct. (it'll, when there were 10 draught and four light horses as against seven and live the previous year, and 13 and 5 and 10 and 3 for the preeccding two years respectively. The sum of £fi 10/ was taken at the gate. The actual receipts' for the year were £282 3/6, and the cxpeuniture £301! 10/7. The corresponding figures for the previous year were—Receipts, £.318 'l/6; expdidit'ure, £3<l2 6,/ H. These figures do not take into account the credits brought forward ; they are intended to show the actual income in each respective year. The annual show was held on Friday, December Ist, after Dunedin show instead of before it as previously. In conclusion, your committee beg to thank ihe judges, the contributors of special prizes, and all who assisted towards the success of the Society. In accordance with the resolution of tile Society, tile first-named seven members of committee retire by rotation. Messrs J. R. Kenton, I). Bryce, J. Begg, jun., W. .John (Irigor. und 1). Sheddan are eligible for reelection. A seventh member will also require to be elected in place of Mr •John Findlay (deceased).
