THE BLACK FAMILY.
The talented and interesting Black Family gave a performance in the Oddfellows' Hall on Friday night and were welcomed with a full house. The Black Family are as'• np-to-d&te " as ever and included a number of new items in their evening's entertainment, Miss Nelly's trick violin playing being a regular eye-opener. The best item of the evening was the selection from " The Bohemian Girl" by the whole family, who manipulated nine instruments, with freedom and skill. The dancing of Master Black and Miss Elsie was very commendable and gave the greatest pleasure to the audience. Mr Black himself is a great favourite with the Balclutha people, especially in his humorous songs. Master Black gave Tin amusing performance on some very unlikely instruments—namely, an American broom, a pair of bellows, etc. Mrs Black presided at the piano, with her usual ability. It is to be hoped that wo will have the pleasure of hearing these popular performers again at no very distant date. The family give performances at various places in the district as advLrtised on Friday.
