SALVATION ARMY.

Last week the Salvation Army completed their services of Harvest Thankgiving which proved a great success. Both officers and soldiers had evidi litly gone to a great deal of labour in order to make the best of the opportunity.

The building was very prettily decorated for the occasion. There was a nice piece of scenery at the buck of the stage in the Army colours—yellow, red, and blue. Also a double archway edged with wheat, oats, and flowers. Around the front of the stage was a green fence with a gate opening on-to the platform, and a table with all kinds of fruit

anil vegetans along the front. Th« whole building was a mass of grei nery anil flowers with benches of vcg.-taWos hi.-rc ami there. As the people came into the building their eves met the beautiful motto hanging from the roof, " 'Die lleapers are the Angels"; | while another bore the words, "The Earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof." The festoons from corner io corner were caught up in the centre by a large home made loaf, which, when the auctioneer went 'to sell, caused no little bit of excitement, and in the end brought 7s. On Sunday, all day, thanksgivings were held, and Monday night found the building crowded 'with an expectant crowd. The Musical Alia i'er Dreda came un to the people's highest expectation?. The brass band gave selections, also the lassies, seven in number, with their tamborines. played very nto-ly.
