THE SMALLEST BIBLE IN THE WORLD The most beautiful Novelty produced this year by Mr Henry Fronde, of the Oxford University Press, is his thumb Prayer Book. A tiny volume with a nearly square page, binding and all, weighing less than three-quarters of an ounce, Like other typographical achievements of a similiar kind, the thumb Prayer Book is due to the employment of the wonderful Oxford India paper, the thinnest, toughest, and most opaque fabric ever turned out of a paper mill. These tiny volumes are in a bewildering variety of beautiful bindings, morocco, calf, russia, and even in modest roan ; and neatness and tastefulness of the binding are as conspicuous as any other portion of the manufacture. They are little marvels, and prove great favourites wherever they have been seen. Another achievement of the Oxford LTniversity Press is the 'Brilliant Bible', which in ks t>vo forms is described as the smallest Bible in the World and the smallest reference Bible in the world. The former is a tiny volume measuring, when bound, only 3|in. by three and one-third inches by |in., yet containing over 1200 pages. The minute type is exquisitely clear and sharp, and thanks to the wonderful opacity of the paper, is perfectly i-eadable. The reference Bible only differs in that the page is one-third of an inch wider, a column of reference being inserted between the columns of text. The ' Brilliant Bible ' is, like most of its predecessors, issued in a variety of bindings. ♦ ' .
