The Gore Borough Council, at its meeting on Monday evening, adopted the Lighting Committee's report recommending that a contract be entered into for three years to light the town. The syndicate represented by Mr Postlethwaite propose to erect two arc Ismps of 3000 candle-power, 6 incandescent lamps of 32-candle power, and continue to use 26 kerosene lamps, the total price for six months to be Ll5O. The first cost of the arc and incandescent lampa would be L 93,
