Thursday 'Evening. BURNSIDE STOCK SALES. ' Fat Cattle.— l34 head yarded, the bulk' onlv medium quality, some few pens only coming under the heading of good to prime beef. The trade was well represented, but bidding lacked spirit. Best bullocks LS 10 8 t,o L9 10 ; medium to good L6 17s (id to L8 7s 6d ; light L5 to LG 12s 6d ; best cows L6 17s 6d to L8 12s 6d ; medium to good L5 to L6 2s Od; light L2 17s 6d to L4 12s 6d. • Fat Sheep. — 2171 penned, including 2?,0 merinos.the balance being crossbreds of various qualities, largely comprising aged ewes. The demand for good wethers was fair, but for others prices compared unfavourably with those of last week, sales being effected with difficulty. Best crossbred wethers brought 12s 6d to 13s 9d (two pens of extra prime 143 fid) ; ordinary 9j to lis 6d ; best crossbred ewes 8-i to 103 3d 1 extra prime and young Us fid to 13s) ; light and old 5s 3d to 7s 9 1 ; merino wethers 3s 6d to 8s 9d. Lambs. — Only sfi were penned and met with fair competition. Best 7s 9d to 9s 9d : others to 6s 9;1. Pigs. — 50 forward, from suckers to baconers. The demand was not brisk and under only moderate competition the lot were disposed of as under : Suckers 7s fid to 13s 6d; slips 14s to 17s; stores 19s to 2ls; porkers 24s ta 30s; baconers 35s to 47^.
