THE BUTTER INDUSTRY.
. t Mr Henry 'Reynolds, of Messrs Reynolds and Co., Limited, Auckland and London, waa a passenger by the lonic from London. He has brought some bottles of lactic ferment bacteria, imported direct from Denmark, for improving the quality and uniformity of butter. The experiments in this direction in Denmark have proved highly successful. This is the first importation of the kind to the Colony. He also brought two of the celebrated disc churns, one for power and one for hand, which were the great attraction of the great Islington Dairy Show ; also the lightning churn of Victoria, with which he will make competitive experiments with the disc churns for the benefit of the butter makers of the Colony. Each of the churns bring butter to a granulated state in five minutes. After staying in Auckland for two or threfi weeks, Mr Reynolds makes a tour of the Colony in the interests of the colonial butter industry.
