Sir, — It is really amusing to read those two advertisements inserted in your paper by two local tradesmen, which take the form of a challenge from two master tailors, to make a garment of every day wear. I have no doubt that either of them, as a test of ability, could make the garment to the satisfaction of the most fastidious tradesman, and to the great delight of their numerous clients. This fact is openly demonstrated by the number of appreciative customers calling upon them daily, also by the large extensive business carried on by both combatants. But with all our prosperity, we are not justified in falling foul of our neighbours, although naturally gifted with more than a reasonable quantity of precosity and verbosity. Not being able, anxious though we may be, to rise to the surface of publio recognition by dint of honesty and hard work, but according to the nature of our anatomical construction must rise by quarrelling with some one, and Paddy-like, when all other efforts have failed, as a last resourse to raise a quarrel, must drag the tails of his Prince of Wales in the dirt.
