FILLING LONDON CHURCHES.
Apropos of filling London churches I think the following, from a home paper, is rather neat : — This is what a working man said : ' Look hero, guvernor, when yon 'ere chapel was full of swells and their wives, we were never asked to come in and take a seat ; but when the swells left and went outside London, and the pews were empty, tho folks began to send out bills. to get us in." Look here, we're wanted now to (ill up empty seats — that's it. Yes, that's your dodge, it is. Well, we ain't a-coniing, that's all.' — Rev. G. W. M'Cree.
