INCH CLUT HA RIVER AND ROAD BOARD.

(Unavoidably held over from last issue.) , The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Board waah'ildin Houlston's Hotel, Stirling, on the 17th December. There were present— Messrs Mosley (Chairman) M'Donaid*, Anderson, Bell and Smaill. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

A memo was read from Mr F. S. Pillans, drawing the Board's attention to error in acreage of sections 10, 11 and 12, block X.-r-Consideration held over till next meeting.

The Chairman reported that the members of the Board met the Chairman and local members of the Bruce County Council, and examined the works through Wright's belt, and also the proposed diveation through the Education Reserve. The members of Council had agreed that the drain be concreted through the belt. They had also expressed their opinion that whatever the members of the Board wished would be carried out, as far as the funds would admit. — After a discussion as to what works were most necessary to bo carried out at present, the following resolution was passed. — That the Board wish to draw the Council's (attention) to the necessity of having a eorroct level taken of the main drain, from the culvert at the Matau river to the cross road at the Telegraph line, so that all available fall can be taken advantage off before any concrete be. laid ; also that the drain be concreted through the belt where necessary and that the remainder be widened and deepened to Allison's.- — The Board expressed a hope that the Council will take advantage of the favourable weather for the work and have the works started at once. — The Clerk was instructed to forward copy of resolution to Chairman County Council.

Mr Smaill drew the Board's attention to the necessity of having some holes on road near Mr Wilson's and on, road near Mr Mosley's, filled up.— Tho work to bo attended to.

The Chairman reported that he had not yet seen Mr A. Smaill, Balloon, with reference to protecting river bank at Kaitangata punt.— The Chairman and Mr Smaill to arrange to have the works carried out*

Mr Anderson reported that a portion of the main centre road near Mr A Bell's required to be formed. — Matter to stand over in meantime.
