In last issue we gave the result of the firing in the first, second, and third matches. The fourth match was fired on Thursday af ternoon, and was won by the Clutha Rifles by 13 points over the Wakari Rifles. The annual competition for the Ladies' Challenge Shield was then gone on with, nine companies competing.- The Clutha Rifles, the present holders of the shield, again proved victorious, with a score of 407, Wakari coming next 20 behind, and then the L Battery with only eight points behind the Wakari. Fourth Day. — Saturday. Consolation Match.— Seven shots at 200, 400, and 500 yards, Same prizes as in mutches 1, 2, 3, and 5.

The next highest were :— Gunner Mackay (D N A), 78 ; Lieutenant Johnston, (N D R), 78 ; Corporal Clarke (Otepopo), 78 ; Corporal Martin (Waitahuna), 78 > Volunteer Richardson (N D R), 78. Tho meeting was brought to a close by the " Maiden match," fired in the afternoon. In this match the competitors comprised old Volunteers, recruits, ea-Volun-teers, and civilians, all of whom were qualified to compete from having been unfortunate in their . previous shooting career to the extent of never having won a prize of the value of Ll. Seventy-six men competed in this match, which was perhaps the match of the meeting, and proved highly interesting. . The conditions of the match were five shots at 200, 400, and 500 yards, any position ; prizes L3, L2, and Ll ; and the following are the prize-takers :— ■
