H. Valpy, Esq., out of Maggie Lauder, bred by John Barr, Esq. Emperor was got by Napoleon, imported, out of Nancy, imported, bred by Mr Findlay, Easterhill, by Bailieston, Glasgow. Maggie Lauder was got by the celebrated horse Prince Charlie, imported to Melbourne by Messrs J. and M. iM'lntosh, out of Blanche, imported by D. Nesbit, Esq. Young Emperor is a dapple bay horse, stands 1 63 hands high. He was exhibited at the Taieri 3how in 1873 and 1874, and was both times a prize-taker ; at 3 years old toolc the first prize at bhe Agricultural Show, Oamaru : and third prize it Oarnaru show in 1876, against all comers ; he ilso took third prize at the Palmerston Agricultural Show and at Balclutha last season against ill comers. Maggieiauder, his dam, has been the winner of 18 prizes, 9 of them being first prizes in Otago. He has proved himself a sure foal getter. Terms, £4; Groomage, 55., payable at time of service. Guarantee as per agreement. Roebuck is a bay horse, by Towton, out of Miss Rowe, by Sir Hercules, dam Miss Miller, by Young Wanderer j Sir Hercules, by Cap-a-Pie, out of Paraguay. Towton (own brother to The Peer) by Melbourne, dam Cinizelli, by Touchstone (vide English Stud Book), imported into New Zealand in 1858. Marchioness, an own sister to Towton, and dam of Fishook, won the Oaks in 1855 ; and The Marquis, a son of Cinizelli, by Stockwell, won the Two Thousand Guineas in 1 862, run second for the Derby (for which he was first favourite), and won the St. Leger. Terms — L 4 4s ; groomage fee ss, payable in advance. Paddocks provided for mares from a distance at 2s per week. Every care taken, but no responsibility. Guarantees as per agreement. .
