THE GRAND EXHIBITION, FANCY FAIR, and BRUCE AUCTION, Held to supplement the ordinary annual income of the Benevolent Institution, WUI be Opened at Messrs HNGLIS'S NEW WAREHOUSE, George-street, DUNEDIN. ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 7th, At 2 o'clock p.m., And wUI Re-op^n DaUy during the ensuing week at the same hour. THE ENTERTAINMENTS WiU consist of an Exhibition of Works of Art and Scientific Instruments, including the Microscope, the Graphescope, etc., etc., Models of Buildings and Machinery, Printing, Lithographic, and other Machinery at work, Specimens of Handicraft, the Electric Light, Maori, Fiji, and other Polynesian Curiosities, with a host of interesting objects kindly lent for the occasion ; Music (Vocal and Instrumental"*, including performances by the MUitary, Railway, Caledonian, and other Bands ; and Dancing from 8 to 10 o'clock p.m. A FANCY FAIR of Works of Ornament and Utility contributed by the Ladies of Otago ; and GRAND BRUCE AUCTION of Grain, . Flour, Dairy Produce, arid all other imaginable Merchandise sent in by the Citizens and Rural Population, to aid the funds of this most deserving Charitable Institution. THE RAILWAY AUTHORITIES have Überally arranged to issue return tickets to Dunedin and back at a SINGLE FARE to holders of Carnival Tickets, which may be purchased at aU Railway Stations in Otago. The Committee earnestly urge the public to second its efforts by contributing any miscellaneous articles of property which they may have to spare, towards the accomplishment of this useful work. Farm Produce, Books, Pictures, Toys, Watches, Clocks, Clothing, Confectionery, Tobacco, Pipes, Matches — in fact, anything and everything— from a Diamond Ring to a Tooth brush — from a Stalled Ox to a dozen of New Laid Eggs wiH be thankfuUy received. The Railways will receive and convey all goods Free of Charge, and the Secretary, on receipt of an intimation to that effect, will send for any articles contributed, either for sale or exhibition.
