It will be observed that an application has been made to the Waste Lands Board for the purchase of the Tuakitoto and Kaitangata. lakes. The members ofthe Board seemed to have been taken somewhat by surprise in the matter, and adjourned its consideration ior a month. They also wisely believed that the settlers in the neighbourhood would desire to say something upon the subject. We damsay they will, and we now call their immediate , attention to the matter, so that it may be fully considered, and their opinion laid before the Board . when the question again comes up for discussion. »-
