«~ • ■ Mr Henry Driver (on behalf of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.) reports as follows for the week ending 28th Juno :— Fat Cattle.— l7o head came forward, only about half being of good quality. Consequently, a portion remained unsold. Best bullocks brought £10 10a to £14, do. cows £7 to £10 10s ; or equal to about 35s per lOOlbs for prime quality. We sold at yards and have placed for forward delivery 200 head. Pat Sheep.— lsoo penned and all found buyers. Best cross-breds brought from lis 6d to 14s 6d, a pen of extra prime heavy weights realising 18s ; merinos, 7s 6d to 10a — or 3d per lb for former and 2_d latter. Storo Cattle. — Prime well-grown bullocks and cows are in demand, the former at £6 10s to £8 and the latter £4 10 a to £6. We have placed a . small lot for turnip-feeding at £9 10s. Store Sheep. — No business to report. Wool. — Since our report last week no further advices have reached us from European markets, and there is no business doing locally. Shippers are anxiously waiting further intelligence. Sheepskins.— Sales well attended ; prices rather higher. Cross-breds, gree-o, brought 3» 3d to 3s 7d ; merinos, 2s 6d to 2s 9d. Hides in good demand at former quotations. : ' Tallow. — None offering. Grain. — Wheat is in good request, and sella readily at 4a 6d to 4s 9d for prime to choice milling ; inferior, 4s to 4s 4d ; fowls' wheat, 3s 6d. Oats are inquired for, shippers offering, ls 9d for good feed, at which some business is doing. Lobal demand is good _.t ls 9d for feed and Is lld for milling. Barley, except for choice malting, which is scarce and firmly held for 4s 6d, prices are quite nominal and busmen, difficult and unsatisfactory from the quantity of inferior unsaleable samples offering. » .. .
