AN EXPLANATION.
TO THB BDITOB. I Sib,— ln the report of the proceedings of the Clntha Presbytery last week, Mr Waters' speech about » letter in the ' Evangelist' in Apxil, v represented to have been concurred in by the Presbytery. Will you kindly allow me a ««rroction. Mr Waters called the attention of the Presbytery to the matter. The Moderator repeatedly objected to it, and not a single other member expressed hi* view, so that whatever Mr Water* said was only hi« own personal views. My reason for this correction is that members of Presbytery feel agrieved that a manuscript ehotild Ids reported under the wing of the Presbytery that should appear only as a letter from an individual member. — I am, &c, John M. Allan. Clerk of Presbytery.
