Such, then, are the new characters deduced physiologically, one from the other; ' a more. cylinrical structure ;• a diminution in tbe volume o( the bpne ; the disappearance cf tbe folds' of the skin,;- a •suppression of the horn; a very notable contraction of. the head aud of the de'ormities which dishonored it ; a descent of tbe wool upon the parts of the body where it had neithe r quality nor value ; the .choice pieces, the sides, (coteletes) aud lege, be- J come more marked and acquire more, weight; the wool of medium quality be-! co nes more abundant, and is at the same -t-me soft and long; the growth of tbe animal is more rapid ; the fattening more et sy ; the return of flesh greater, and the quality more appreciable. .
