Cathedral Grammar School
The Cathedral Grammar School was founded in 1881 to educate the choristers of Christchurch Cathedral. The school monogram is a bishop’s mitre and the motto is "Semper Fidelis,” “Always Faithful.” Today, the school is 108 years old, and still educates the 24 choristers who are on full scholarships.
The roll is now 260 with boys and girls from preschool to J 3, and boys only from standard 2 and form 3. The school is situated in Chester Street West, across the road from Hagley Park, and. close to the Museum and Art Gallery, Town Hall and Cathedral.
