First goals event
The Going- for Goals lazy letter promotion is expected to benefit Christchurch and its citizens. Additional cash coming into Christchurch is going to directly benefit those who supply goods and services. But the promotion will also demonstrate that Christchurch' people are able and willing to go out and look for new opportunities.
Citizens will be encouraged to renew friendships and there will be opportunitiees for the sender and recipient to enter competitions. Attractive discounts on various Christchurch goods and services will also be available to visitors.
“By participating in this promotion people have the chance to do something small, but constructive towards the city’s increasing unemployment problem,’’ says Mr Ken Taylor of the Going for Goals Tourist Action Team.
“In organising this promotion, we have been encouraged by the concern of many businesses for the future .of Christchurch. We are very grateful for their support “The major supporter is New Zealand Post In fact without their support the lazy letter would never have got off the ground. New Zealand Post has offered us every assistance and encouragement “The lazy letter promotion is the first Going for Goals event in which Christchurch people are able to be directly involved,” Mr Taylor says.
