Opening promotions

The opening of the new Countdown operation at Northlands today will be highlighted by several promotions. The radio 3ZB personality Barry Corbett will be broadcasting live between 10 a.'m. and 2 p.m. and will also be orchestrating the “Stop the Till” com-

petition in which at certain times cash registers will be stopped and customers will receive their groceries free. A band, jugglers and clowns will add to the fun of the day. In the carpark there will be a canon firing coloured ping-pong balls

with each colour equating to different prizes redeemable inside Countdown.

Elaine Smith, who plays Daphne in the television programme “Neighbours,” will also be a special guest at Countdown. Come along and have your photo taken

with “Daphne” and get the opportunity to ask her different questions. She will be at Northlands on Saturday, December 2, Monday, December 4, Tuesday, December 5 and Wednesday, December 6.

She will be on site each day from 10.30 a.m. to noon and 2 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.
