Situations Vacant Situations Vacant SENIOR TRAINING OFFICER SOUTHPOWER HAS A vacancy for a new position of Senior Training Officer to be based In the Personnel Department. Southpower has been formed as a result of a merger between the Christchurch M.E.D. and Central Canterbury Electric Power Board. It is the second largest power authority In New Zealand with a staff in excess of 650. The position reports to the Personnel Manager. This Is a key position and contains the following responsibilities. These are: • Co-ordination of all training through the organisation. • Monitoring training programmes, evaluating outcomes and results. • Assisting departmental managers in developing career path and development programmes for Individual staff. • Identifying training needs and developing suitable programmes to meet those needs. • Liaising with training providers in the community. • Working with the Safety Officer for integration of safety programmes into the overall training programme. • Reporting to the Corporate Management Group on a regular basis on training within the organisation. • Other duties that may be required from time to time. The successful applicant will require: • Extensive “hands-on” training experience. • A proven track record in a co-ordlnatlon/manage-ment role. • Ability to communicate effectively. • A commitment to innovative and effective training Str&t€£i6S. • The ability to form good working relationships at all levels of the organisation. The position requires a person who Is energetic and committed to being part of a team involved in making Southpower the No. 1 energy supplier in the South Island. This is a newly created position and will require a high degree of self motivation and Initiative. The salary for this Interesting position Is In the range of $39,300, $41,799, $43,429.
