JAL revenue up
Japan Airlines, a 7.5 per cent owner of Air New Zealand, has reported an 11.3% increase in revenues in the six months to September 30. JAL said revenues had risen to $6.3 billion over the same period in 1988. The airline became a shareholder in Air New Zealand in April. Operating expenses rose 10.6% in the six months to $5.578, giving an . operating , profit before tax of $744M — up 17% on last year.
