ROBBERY A woman, aged 81, ws robbed of $345 in her Waltham Road home at 9 p.m. on November 18. A man entered the house by breaking through louvre windows and confronted the woman in her bedroom. She tried to escape but was dragged back into the room. She was threatened with a knife. The offender is described as Maori, with a bushy hairstyle which is shaved at the side of the head. He wore a black leather jacket, black jeans and black gloves. He left on a red bicycle. ASSAULTS A pregnant woman, aged 18, was assaulted by street kids near Christchurch Women’s Hospital, Colombo Street, at 1.45 p.m. on November 17. Money was demanded and she handed over $2O to the group which consisted of two female Maoris, two European youths and a Maori youth. The principal offenders, the two girls, are described as aged 17 and 15. The older girl was 153 cm tall, slim build, with black shoulder-length hair, wearing dirty torn jeans, black ribknit

jersey and black kung fu shoes. The other girl was 165 cm tall, with black hair and dressed similarly to her co-offender.

A man was hit over the head with a broken beer bottle and then kicked about the face by two men in Riccarton Road at-about 1.30 a.m. on November 16. The offenders are both described as Maori. One was aged about 27, 178 cm tall, medium build, with short curly dark hair. The other was aged 18, 168 cm tall, slim build, with collar-length curly black hair, with tattoos on the hands and wrists. BURGLARIES An air compressor, two Iwota paint guns, two Hitachi drills, one Black and Decker portable sander, one Stayer sander, one Makita sander, two AEG angle grinders, one Makita angle grinder, one Bosch jigsaw, one Stinger Mig welder on trolley, one gas bottle, 600 assorted sanding discs, 30 assorted castor wheels, three bolt cutters, two squares, assorted clamps and tools were stolen from Slimmar Shop Fittings, Hazeldean Road, between November 11 and 13. Two hundred cartons of crushed pineapple were stolen from a transport container at Leaning Tower of Pizza, Ltd, Sturrocks Road, Redwood, last week-end.
