Arts seminar
A seminar on “How To Run Your Arts Organisation Efficiently” will be given by Bruce Stokell, a consultant in recreational administration on November 25. The seminar is aimed at Cantabrians who are office holders of an arts organisation. Bruce Stokell was formerly the executive director of the New Zealand Council for Recreational and Sport. Topics he will cover include funding, membership, short- and long-term goals, performances/shows, publicity and promotion. Those attending and seminar will also be able to share their own ideas and concerns.
The seminar has been organised by the New Zealand Amateur Arts Assembly, a sector group of the Hillary Commission that incorporates various national amateur arts bodies such as the Brass Bands Association, the Theatre Federation, and the Spinning, Weaving and Woolcrafts Society. The seminar will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Blue Room in the Arts Centre. Enquiries should be made to Julie Browne, 227-551.
