Langdon fined $l00
Michael Langdon, the driver of Richard Craig, which broke with 1400 m to run in the / TV3 Dominion Handicap at Addington Raceway on Saturday, was fined $lOO for careless driving. It was established Langdon had allowed Richard Craig ;to< hit-the-sulky,- of Amy Hest, causing his own horse to break.
Henry Skinner, the cotrainer and driver of Honkin Vision, was questioned by the stipendiary stew; ards for this horse's failure to finish closer than fourth in the Cockran Nissan Three-Year-Old Championship.
Skinner advised the Committee Honkin Vision was pulling hard in the run-up and at the point of despatch, and took over a round before he could get him to settle. He considered that with the exceptionally fast first quarter and the eventual time in which the race was run, this had contributed to his horse being beaten. Silky Blue Chip, which broke free of interference when leading with 700 m to run in the Blenheim Road Motor Hotel Pace, has been stood down until he trials on two occasions.
