Lawyer named in trust case
PA Tauranga The Law Society has named a solicitor struck off earlier this year for professional misconduct over the administration of trust funds. A spokesman for the society said the lawyer was Harry Morton Scott, aged 51, formerly of Tauranga and now living in Auckland. Scott’s name was withheld from the news media in February when he was struck off by the Law
Practitioners’ Disciplinary Tribunal for professional misconduct over his handling of $3.8 million in trust funds. The suppression was because Scott was at the time facing a criminal charge. Last week Scott was convicted and fined $2OOO in the District Court, at Auckland where he had faced a charge of fraudulently obtaining $9OOO from Trust Bank Bay of Plenty.
