Samoa’s top judge resigns
The Chief Justice of Western Samoa, a former senior Auckland District Court judge, Justice Trevor Maxwell, has resigned and will return to New Zealand seven months before his term ends.
Justice Maxwell said he
would leave on December 30, instead of late next July, and planned to buy a home at Whangarei Heads. “I have come to an amicable agreement with the Government, but I am sad to be leaving here,” he said.
