Mr David Bowron has .. been elected chairman of the Canterbury Develop- , ment Corporation, succeeding Sir James Stewart, the cdrportion’s head since its inception in 1984. Mr Bowron, the former managing director of GL Bowron and Company and former president of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association, was a foundation director of the corporation.
