Tim May faces four weeks on sidelines
NZPA-AAP Adelaide An Australian cricketer, Tim May, faces another four weeks on the sidelines following the latest in a series of moraleshattering injuries. May, aged 27, flew home from India on Tuesday after his right knee gave way while fielding in Australia’s Nehru Cup match against the West Indies in Madras last Sunday. He had X-rays before he left but immediately booked himself into hospital on his return to
Adelaide for an arthroscopy to determine the extent of the injury.
On Tuesday night he was given the bad news with the investigation uncovering a torn anterior cruciate ligament. An orthopaedic surgeon repaired the damage and also flushed out pieces of bone from May’s knee. The South Australian Cricket Association general manager, Barry Gibbs, said yesterday the spinner hoped to begin training again in two weeks
