Greyhounds Highspot Lad ready to ‘debut’ in winning style

Highspot Lad may kick off his racing career in New Zealand with a win in the Otago Futurity Stakes, the first leg of the T.A.B. double at the Otago Greyhound Racing Club’s meeting at Forbury Park today. Imported from Sydney by Gene Renner, of Christchurch, Highspot Lad has been in the care of leading trainer Ray Adcock for several weeks.

Highspot Lad should find his opposition in today’s event easier than those he has beaten at Wentworth Park, the capital of greyhound racing in Sydney. Highspot Lad has won seven of eight starts. Vanishing Point has not raced as well recently, but he should be on the improve again after weighing in heavy recently. Thursday Night, an impressive winner at Christchurch on Octpber 16, steps up to the middle distance, while Pere Paku and Mythical Magic are others which should be prominent.

Profit Galore will be a short-priced favourite to win the Caversham Stakes, the second leg of the T.A.B. double.
