Design incorporates overseas trends
The central city Cash and Carry incorporates the latest ideas from the United States and Australia.
Senior executive from Rattrays have spent considerable time studying overseas trends and these have been incorporated into the Tuam Street design. There are the very latest in advanced heating and lighting systems installed. “To heat and light such a large area is a major undertaking but it is essential if our customers are to get the comfort and convenience levels they desire,” says the General Manager, Mr
Bob Stewart. In addition, a sophisticated alarm and security system has also been set up. Obviously, this new location will offer one of the largest range of both grocery and catering products seen anywhere in New Zealand. As well, there will be a complete range of frozen foods, both grocery and catering bulk packs, a walk-in delicatessen, offering the same, and a substantial range of repacked fruit and vegetables at wholesale prices. Customers who shop with Rattrays include supermarkets, five
and six-day grocery outlets and superettes, seven-day dairies, restaurants, fast food and takeaway outlets, business houses, sports clubs, canteens, hotels, service stations and the general business community.
“However, we do not supply the public and all customers must be bonafide wholesale trade customers,” Mr Stewart states. New product displays and sampling of new products will be a key part of the promotional programme while extensions to the range will include variety houseware and kitchenware plus health foods.
