Star Count could prove hard to beat

Wellington correspondent With Jugged scratched, his stablemate, Star Count, is likely to be the hardest to beat in the Wellington Handicap, the first leg of the T.A.B. double at Trentham today. The scratching of Jugged is just another major disappointment for the Wellington Racing Club, whose spring meeting has been plagued by ill-fortune which will climax with just a seven-race card this afternoon. Star Count has won his last two races, a highweight at Woodville and then the Supreme Hurdles (2600 m at Awapuni. In that hurdle event he beat Irish Boe, a five-length winner at Trentham on Saturday.
