I’m not one to gossip, but ... Prince Rainier is quietly romancing a Beverley Hills socialite, Suzanne Smigle. She has been staying at his palace in Monaco for the past three months.
It’s very hard to believe the stories that Madonna is a penny-pincher, when, according to some old chequebook stubs found near her home she shares with Warren Beatty, household expenses for just one month added up to more than $22,000, including a $4OO telephone bill. But life for the superstar pair wasn’t all luxury. A cheque for $4O went to a pest-control company. Country-singing superstar Dolly Parton is steaming mad over a newspaper report that she’s been having a supersecret, 18-year affair with a songwriter. “I’m very happily married, I don’t need another man,” said Dolly. “I’ve never had any affairs and do not intend to start one now.” Doily, 42, and her 45-year-old husband Carl Dean have been married for 23 years. Morgan Fairchild and Connie Sellecca are attending “Women who Love too Much” meetings, hoping they’ll learn how to become attracted to the right kind of man. David Birney is heartbroken over the split with his wife, Meredith Baxter. “He feels it’s the ideal time for them to straighten out their differences” says a friend. David, 49 and Meredith, 40, married 15 years ago. They have five children: Ted, 21, and Ava, 18, from her first marriage, and three of their own, Kate, 14, and twins Peter and Mollie, 4. Jack Nicholson could have been flattened when a huge satellite dish plummeted from a studio rooftop on to his car, doing quite a few thousand dollars worth of damage. He was not in the car at the time.
After spending an hour in the chair at a leading Hollywood hair salon, Glenn Close looked in the mirror and was shocked to see she’d been dyed red. She dashed out and headed for another salon, where they took 222y 2 hours and $4OO to undo the damage.
Barbara Sinatra (Frank’s wife) has become a spokesperson for Revlon in its TV and print adverts. The cosmetic company is using a lot of well known movie and TV stars to promote their products. I hear they pay them mega bucks. Frank appears with Barbara in the latest Revlon adverts.
At the age of eight, Justin Henry was the youngest Oscar nominee in history. Movie fans wept over his role as little Billy in the movie “Kramer vs Kramer.” He was the child torn between his parents, played by Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Streep. Now, years later, the young actor is painting houses for a living. At 18 he lives in New York and hopes his acting career will take off again some day. Tom Selleck is in Australia making a movie, but says he can’t wait to start working on the sequel to his comedy movie, “Three Men and a Baby,” next year. He said he loved working with the cast and crew, who will also make the sequel ... but my lips are sealed.
