Four-hour wait for help

A car accident victim who suffered serious multiple injuries 'remained undiscovered for more than four hours after his car left State highway 1 near Parnassus yesterday. The man, aged 60, was flown by helicopter to Christchurch Hospital and arrived about 5 p.m.
His name and condition were unavailable last evening. He has abdominal, pelvic and leg injuries. ’ The accident is understood to have happened about 10 a.m. when the car went about 20m down a bank at Hawkeswood.
He managed to crawl about halfway up the bank before being found.
