Corruption charge
One of Singapore’s richest businessmen and the head of several flourishing companies, Kwek Hong Png, has been charged with corruption. A director of the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau said Kwek, aged 77, was released on bail of one million Singapore dollars ($NZ848,464) after being charged in a district court with abetting criminal breach of trust involving 842,892 Singapore dollars ($NZ715,163) and retaining stolen property.
