More Ariadne hopefuls
NZPA-AAP Brisbane
An Ariadne Australia associate and a concerned private shareholder are the latest to join the company’s list of would-be directors.
Ariadne’s managing director, Mr Malcolm Edwards, announced on Thursday that the Brisbane property developer, Mr Kevin Seymour, and a Brisbane investment adviser, Mr Rodney Buddle, had been nominated to stand for election to the board at the annual meeting on November 28. Mr Seymour is a principal of Seymour Developments Pty, which is 50 per cent owned by Ariadne, and a shareholder in Ariadne. Mr Buddle has held about 20,000 Ariadne shares since 1979 and describes himself as “no puppet” for any faction in the long-running . battle for control of the property company.
“I am just concerned about the direction of the company and have been since 1986,” he said. The new faces join the former Ariadne chairman, Mr Bruce Judge, Brierley Investments, Ltd’s chief, Sir Ronald Brierley, and two other BIL nominees, and Ampersand International’s chairman, Mr Frank Carr, to take the list of nominees to seven.
