Husband remanded
PA Tauranga A Tauranga man, aged 31, charged with the attempted murder of his wife, was remanded in police custody to today when he appeared briefly
in the District Court at Tauranga yesterday.
The man, a clerk, was granted interim name suppression by a Justice
of the Peace, Mr Bernie
Donovan. His counsel, Mr Paul Mabey, said possible psychiatric issues regarding his client needed to be canvassed.
Mr Mabey did not seek bail. Sergeant Keith El-
liott said any application for the man’s release would be opposed.
