Nuclear stance
Sir,—Robert Leonard (September 1) seems to have a naivety beyond belief, seriously saying we have no enemy. It is very nice to believe that there are no people in the world with bad intentions, but every day all we need to do to see the reverse ■ ■
is open our eyes and see the proof of their bad intentions; thousands of people slaughtered in Peking, for one example. The example I quote is the result of communism, and that is our enemy, and should be the enemy of every freedom-loving person in the world. So, it is not a desire of John Pallot to have an enemy, but the fact that John Pallet’s awareness in this area is higher than those that say we have no enemy. Something that must be remembered is that communism enslaves; so let us not be enslaved. — Yours, etc., JOSIE FRANKLIN. September 2,1989.
