Robber cool customer
PA Auckland A hooded man with a shotgun took tens of thousands of dollars from the Bank of New Zealand’s Onehunga branch yesterday after rifling all six tellers’ boxes. The police said the robber had stuffed an airline bag with money but left several thousand dollars scattered over the floor before making his getaway in a BMW car, driven by an accomplice. Detective Senior-Sergeant Tony Hill said the holdup was unusual in that the offender remained calm.
“He certainly was not panicking. He acted very cool in the circumstances.
“A lot of bank robbers take off like buck rabbits, but this guy stayed to clean out all the tellers who were working.”
